Billy Wilder at the NFT

Billy Wilder was one of the creators of film noir, and his classic Double Indemnity is re-released next month. But he was much more than that, as a series of his films at the NFT during November and December will show. He's probably best remembered now for a succession of sharp, witty and often slightly subversive comedies (some dark and some plain black), including The Apartment, Some Like it Hot, Sabrina, Kiss Me Stupid, The Seven Year Itch, and Sunset Boulevard.
