Deborah Kerr: Impeccable Grace and Beauty

20th October, 2007

Scottish actress Deborah Kerr died this week at 86. One of our greatest exports to Hollywood, she appeared in some of the great romantic movies of the fifties, including The King and I and From Here to Eternity. Despite being nominated six times, she never won an Oscar, but finally received an Honorary Oscar in 1994, when she was described by the Academy as "an artiste of impeccable grace and beauty". Those qualities were seen in many films, and are equally well displayed in the posters and lobby cards in which she appears.
