Farewell to Shelley

Shelley Winters has died at the age of 85. In a career which lasted well over half a century,she developed from (sort of) sex symbol to character actress (ignoring her later appearances in tv's Roseanne). Appearing in cult films such as Alfie and Lolita, she won Oscars for The Diary of Anne Frank and A Patch of Blue, as well as nominations for A Place in the Sun and The Poseidon Adventure.
