Finally! Scorsese's Oscar

35 years after working as the montage editor on "Elvis On Tour", US Director (and film student) Martin Scorsese has finally won the Best Director Oscar that we were beginning to think he never would. It's churlish to point out that "The Departed" isn't really a patch on the classics like "Mean Streets", "Taxi Driver" or "Goodfellas". And it's certainly not as funny as "The King of Comedy". But it's good nonetheless to see Scorsese win an Oscar after so many contributions to the art of cinema, and while he's still a working director.
