Happy 75th, Liz
3rd March, 2007
Elizabeth Taylor recently celebrated her 75th birthday. It may be over 10 years since her last cinema release ("The Flintstones"), and some would say 40 years since her last great performance. But she's still a massive star. Starting as an 11 year old in "National Velvet", she had an astonishing run of success, especially through the 1950s and 1960s. Starring opposite the great leading men including Brando, Clift, Dean, Burton and more, marrying 7 (or 8) times, to say nothing of winning two Oscars (to date)for "Butterfield 8" in 1960 and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" in 1966. And featuring in some wonderful poster artwork. Happy Birthday!
