We were sad to hear of the recent death of one of the greats of British comedy of the fifties and sixties. Ian Carmichael had a career spanning more than sixty years in film and television (where he was Bertie Wooster and Lord Peter Wimsey amongst others). For many though he is synonymous with the Boulting Brothers classics of the late fifties, and who can forget his sublime sparring with Terry-Thomas in School for Scoundrels?
