Orson Welles - The Great Disruptor
20th June, 2015
This is the title of the BFI's July series of Orson Welles movies. Most people think of Welles and Citizen Kane, but he was responsible for much more. To coincide with the series of screenings we have on display in our King's Road Gallery lobby cards from two of his finest non-Kane films. We have scenes from his directorial "comeback" (he hadn't really been away, but that's how it's usually described), Touch of Evil, and The 3rd Man, in which he was directed by Carol Reed and delivered probably his finest screen performance, as racketeer Harry Lime. We also have in stock many other Welles titles, some of which are illustrated here.
