Lovely artwork. Tantalising taglines. Fantastic cast with the cream of British comedy and an all-star cast including the acting aristocracy such as James Mason (in the same film as Cheech and Chong and half of Monty Python – who’d have thought?) and Michael Hordern. But unfortunately a film that was more misfire than rollocking fun on the high seas. It probably seemed like a good idea at the time to prime mover, co-writer and titular star, Graham Chapman. Or maybe too much fun was had in its making (except, sadly, for Marty Feldman, who died on set). Either way, it was a spectacular flop on its release in 1983, and although it has since worked up a bit of a cult following, it’s still an acquired taste. This original UK Quad cinema poster (measuring 30” x 40”) is in great original folded condition.
